 SANTHI: ECHOES OF HOPE

Hiroshima Day

As part of the B.Ed curriculum, Samaja Samskara, the Social Science Department of Sree Narayana Training College, Nedunganda, organised a subject association activity titled “SANTHI: Echoes of Hope” to observe Hiroshima Day. Held on 6 August 2025 at 9:30 am in the college auditorium, the programme centred on the theme “Teaching Peace, Living Hope: Remembering Hiroshima and Nagasaki as a Tribute to Resilience and Responsibility.”

The event featured an introductory speech, recitation, skit, video presentation, caption-writing competition, paper crane making tutorial and a peace pledge.

I narrated the touching story of the girl Sadako Sasaki, a young girl from Hiroshima who began folding paper cranes while battling leukaemia caused by atomic and presented a crane-making tutorial, inviting everyone to reflect on hope and peace through the symbolic act of folding a paper crane.
